Every Volunteer Matters!

You can now find volunteer opportunities in Marshall County through Volunteer Hub! Search for one-time or recurring opportunities to get involved at local food pantries or youth-serving organizations or those that serve the elderly, or those that are grieving loss. Find what works with your schedule and aligns with your passion and interests! Join the United Way team in January to help with the Point In Time Count. Volunteers will be conducting brief surveys with people who are experiencing housing insecurity. The PIT Count gives nonprofits, like the United Way, and local officials the information needed to apply for grants and craft programming opportunities to address the housing needs in Marshall County.

The greatest heroes of the 2018 Marshall County Flood are those volunteers and flood survivors who kept focused on a vision of long-term recovery after the flood. The volunteers who kept on coming back – from the very beginning of the disaster to a year afterwards – never stopping or satisfied, until each and every individual was safely back into their homes. Safe and sound. Stronger than ever. Living United. WATCH THE STORY OF THE 2018 MARSHALL COUNTY FLOOD HERE.

Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a community recovers from disaster, a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy. United Way of Marshall County’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future.
